Four times a year our General Assembly members come together in person to debate Planning policy and practice. They discuss important issues relating to Planning and the Institute.
The Assembly consists of both elected and appointed representatives.

The General Assembly normally meets four times a year:
- 18 January - London
- 22 March - Birmingham
- 28 June - Manchester
- 18 October - London
Meetings are held within normal working hours and normally start at 11.00 am.

How to become a General Assembly member
Nominations are usually open in June for Chartered Members, Associate Members, Legal Members/Legal Associate and Student/Licentiate. An email from elections@mi-voice with details on how to nominate is sent out to all members. All positions are for a two-year term.
